Biography

International leader with an engineering background and 20 years of experience in strategy commercial and business development roles across the energy, manufacturing and chemical industries. Currently accountable for shaping and executing the investment and financing strategy of ADNOC.

A committed leader focused on achieving growth through strategy development and integration across functions and divisions. A strategic thinker able to cut through complexity to see the broader underlying picture but able to delve into detail where and when needed.

A leader known for his excellent commercial, financial and deal-making capabilities with a demonstrable track record of successful commercial developments. Passionate about developing deep commercial relationships and creating a high-achieving, innovative and diverse culture.

A strategic thinker with a soft spot for technology having published a number of articles in major scientific journals in the early parts of his career, Michele is an accomplished public speaker, with specialist insight on topics including:

Michele has held a number of senior positions within BP and Castrol including Head of Strategy, Chief of Staff, Structured & corporate Finance and Sales. More recently has Joined ADNOC as Chief Investment Officer to manage their investment and financing strategy.

Originally from Italy, Michele is fluent in Italian, English and French. He gained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Naples as well as a master’s degree in Finance from the London Business School. He has two young children and enjoys spending time with his family, indulging his passions for skiing and scientific literature.
