Biography

Mrs. Akane Zoukpo Sanankoua is a Chief Investment Officer in the Capital Markets Development Division at the African Development Bank Group (AfDB). Her responsibilities include leading projects and transactions that contribute to developing capital markets across Africa. Akane has been working in AfDB’s Capital Markets Development Division since 2014 covering both private sector and public sector transactions using the range of AfDB instruments as well as working with African stock exchanges, regulators, and governments. Akane started her career in investment banking in 2007 at Citigroup, where she worked in the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) department based in London. At Citi, she worked on fixed income derivatives solutions for European corporates.

Akane holds a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a Master’s of Science (MSc) in Management - specializing in Finance, from ESCP Europe.
