Biography

Mr. Valdes is Chief Financial Officer and Board Member of VINTE, a publicly traded, Mexican land developer & homebuilder with a shared value business approach.

Over the past twelve years as CFO, Mr. Valdés has led the Company’s efforts to build a strategic and competitive funding base focused on a long-term capital structure with financing ranging from strong global financial institutions such as the IDB, IFC, KfW and Proparco, to debt and equity issuances in the capital markets, including the Company’s IPO on September 2016 as well as 9 bond issuances (3, 5, 7 and 10 year tenures).

The Company has issued 3 Green and Social Bonds (August 2018 and June 2019), making it the first homebuilder ever to issue in the public markets in Latin America.

VINTE’s innovative inclusive business model in low, middle-income housing, supported by the Company’s execution capabilities and a strong balance sheet, has resulted on an average of 20% CAGR on EBITDA and on net profits, as well as on 20% ROE, with increasing dividend payments for the last eleven years.

On August 2019, under Mr. Valdés tenure, Vinte was selected to Fortune’s 2019 “Change the World” List that recognizes the companies that have had a positive social impact through their core business strategy.

Mr. Valdes’ previous experience includes 12 years in finance and management consulting at McKinsey & Co. and at Mercer Oliver Wyman, managing infrastructure, transportation and real estate projects.

Mr. Valdes holds a B.A. in Economics from ITESM, as well as an MBA with concentration in Finance from Booth at The University of Chicago.
