Biography

Victor Barcot is a Managing Director for Mizuho Securities, specializing in Oil and Gas sector coverage globally and well-regarded strategic advisor to National Oil Companies (NOCs) as well as the US Oil Majors. Mr. Barcot has spent his 20+ year career focused exclusively within the Energy sector, advising major US companies, public and private independents, and NOCs on a range of regional and cross-border M&A and capital markets transactions. Over his career Mr. Barcot has advised on over $50 billion in corporate and asset M&A transactions as well as $65 billion in capital markets transactions within the energy sector. Before joining Mizuho, Mr. Barcot was a key member of Deutsche Bank’s Global Oil & Gas Group, where he was a Managing Director focused on providing capital markets and M&A advisory services for public and private clients worldwide. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he was a Managing Director in HSBC’s Resources and Energy Group, working with E&P clients in the US, Canada, and Latin America. Mr. Barcot also was the Founding Partner of Exxel Energy Group, an independent E&P firm focused on the U.S. Rocky Mountains, and the Founder and CEO of Archer Petroleum, with operations in Western Canada and Permian Basin. He began his investment banking career at Credit Suisse First Boston in 1997.
